Royal blaze started by faulty fridge

PARTS of the accident and emergency unit at Chesterfield Royal hospital could be up and running by this afternoon, following last night’s four hour blaze.

In a meeting this morning (June 26), hospital chiefs confirmed that the ward will be accepting patients brought by ambulance from 2pm this afternoon, although the rest of the A&E will be closed “for the forseeable future.”
